The 2021 edition of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities Code, includes many changes to medical gas and vacuum systems, electrical system, medical equipment, and each of the variety of topics addressed by the code. This edition will be adopted and enforced at the end of 2023 in Florida. Some changes impact design and construction while others provide updated requirements for operations and maintenance that contribute to a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors in health care facilities. This session will cover and review the significant changes from the 2018 edition to the 2021 edition.
