Review of the Inspection Testing and maintenance (ITM) requirements for new and existing fire detection and alarm systems. We will discuss what NFPA 72 requires and what inspectors look for. Testing frequencies and items to spot in the reports will be highlighted. Owners’ and operators’ minimum knowledge needed to administer an ITM program. New emphasis on private mode fire alarm in health care and the new sections in NFPA 101 that supports private mode of NFPA 72.
