09: Updates and Upcoming Changes to ASHRAE 170
ANSI/ASHRAE/ASHE Standard 170, Ventilation of Health Care Facilities, is a living document that is continually refined through proposed revisions and interpretation requests between publication cycles. The recently published ASHRAE 170 2025 represents a significant milestone by integrating with the newly termed FGI Code. This presentation will provide attendees with direct insight into the latest updates and forthcoming changes to Standard 170. Perspectives will be shared by members of the ASHRAE 170 committee—including a Voting Member, the Committee Secretary, and a past Chair—along with an FGI board member. Attendees will gain a clearer understanding of the intent behind recent revisions, how upcoming changes may impact healthcare facility design and operations, and what to anticipate in future editions of the standard.
