Biography :

Sanjyot Bhusari is a Principal and AEI’s leader for Intelligent Buildings. He has more than 25 years of experience in building controls, intelligent building design, energy management, mechanical systems, system integration, data analytics, and commissioning. Throughout his career, San has helped clients improve facility performance, reliability, and operational efficiency through the practical application of technology and data. His work spans healthcare, higher education, research, and other mission-critical facilities. San has published seven technical papers and has presented at more than 50 industry conferences on topics including building automation systems, energy management, facility optimization, data analytics, system integration, and retro-commissioning. He is particularly interested in helping organizations leverage emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve building performance and support better operational decision-making. San is passionate about sharing knowledge, mentoring others, and helping clients solve complex facility challenges through thoughtful application of technology.

26: From Insight to Impact—Preparing Healthcare Facilities for the AI Inflection Point

Artificial intelligence is rapidly reshaping how facilities are operated, maintained, and optimized. Through a knowledge exchange involving 17 healthcare, higher education, and corporate real estate organizations, AEI has observed a clear trend: leading institutions are moving beyond isolated AI pilots toward practical applications that enhance decision-making, automate workflows, and support more proactive operations. This session explores how healthcare organizations can prepare for this transition. Attendees will learn about emerging use cases including AI-assisted fault detection, root cause analysis, operational briefings, and technician support tools. Just as importantly, the presentation will address the foundational elements required for success, including data standardization, system integration, governance, and collaboration between facilities and IT teams. Participants will leave with a practical understanding of where AI is creating value today, the barriers organizations commonly face, and the key steps needed to transition from reactive facilities management to intelligent, AI-enabled operations.
